Changelog: September 4, 2024

Today, we are excited to release our biggest update ever. This update includes a new Firewall product, a new System Status page, improved observability for Load Balancer, RPC Endpoints, and Transactions, and more.

Firewall

We are thrilled to introduce the new Firewall, now available to all users. This powerful tool is designed to significantly enhance security by allowing you to configure and manage access rules tailored to your needs.

The Firewall operates on a simple yet robust model: you define conditions to match incoming traffic, and then specify actions to be taken when those conditions are met.

Conditions: You can set conditions based on various criteria, including IP Address, Project, Country, RPC Methods, and many more, giving you full control over how traffic is managed.

Actions: Once conditions are defined, you can choose from four action types:

  • Deny: Block traffic that meets your specified conditions.
  • Rate Limit: Control the flow of traffic by limiting the number of requests allowed within a certain time frame.
  • Bypass: Allow specific traffic to skip certain checks and flow directly through your system.
  • Log: Record the details of traffic that meets your conditions for monitoring and analysis.

With these features, the Firewall provides a flexible and powerful way to protect your applications and infrastructure, ensuring that only legitimate traffic gets through.

System Status Page

We’re excited to introduce our new System Status page, where you can monitor the real-time health of the Ironforge platform. This page provides live updates on service performance, outages, and maintenance activities.

Developers can subscribe to receive notifications, keeping you informed of any changes or issues as they happen. Stay connected and up-to-date with the latest status information.

New Design

Following our commitment to having a lean and productive user experience, we have redesigned the platform. Now, you can easily access analytics and logs for RPC Endpoints, Load Balancer or Transactions. Additionally, we have improved the navigation of the platform, making it easier to find what you need.

Load Balancer, RPC Endpoints and Transactions Analytics

We’ve made significant improvements to our analytics, now offering dedicated pages for Load Balancer and RPC Endpoints analytics.

  • Load Balancer Analytics: On this page, you’ll find data aggregated at the project level, giving you a comprehensive view of performance across the Ironforge Load Balancer.
  • RPC Endpoints Analytics: Here, analytics are focused on the RPC Endpoint level, with data aggregated by individual RPC Endpoints. This allows you to drill down into the specifics of each endpoint’s performance.

The key takeaway: if an issue arises within the Ironforge platform, you’ll see it reflected in Load Balancer analytics. If the issue is specific to one of your RPC Endpoints, it will be captured in the RPC Endpoints analytics.

This version is more streamlined and clear while still conveying all the important details.
